5 stars because this is one of those special home-y hole in the wall places that you always hope you run into. The food is delicious bar grub, the vibe is super fun, the service is super friendly, and I’ll be thinking about what a nice time I had here for awhile. (We got the fried shrimp, chicken pot pie, and crab dip)

My gawd a real Irish pub and someone who can pull a pint of the dark stuff. The fish n chips was pretty good too, but thick and crunchy.

A great local pub! Great food options, fine beer and drink selections. Fantastic atmosphere A must visit for locals and visitors alike

Stopped in Fredrick's for the night and where I am staying suggested Magoo's for some Irish grub. I has the Bangers n Mash and they were amazing. Also had a great Belgian Ale, I think I just found my favorite beer. Had a nice time on the patio too.

March 3, 2024 - Enjoyed lunch with friends at Former Mayor Jennifer Dougherty’s new pub. . . Magoo’s ! Long time acquaintances of J. D. and recall her 1st restaurant, “ Jennifer’s “ ( 1987 - 2008). She’s opened Magoo’s on West 2nd Street in 2009, similar Irish theme, a bit smaller. The menu has several familiar items, with more salad & sandwich options! Guinness Lamb Stem Shepherd’s Pie ( with lamb) Fish & Chips Chicken & Chips Irish Bangers & Apples Vegan Sage Sausage & Apples 6 types of Salads Over 20 Sandwiches ( Burgers) *Vicki’s Chicken Club *Crabby Tom Melt *BBQ Shrimp & Bacon *Old Bay Hen *Mr. Magoo *Crabby Salmon Burger *MD Crab Cake w/Old Bay Extensive Single Malt Whisky Selection Our server, Meghan, was delightful & quick on the drink orders. Food served within 15 minutes . . . Our friends ordered a chopped salad with chicken, bacon. avocado, tomatoes, and bleu cheese & Reuben sandwich ( corned beef, melted provolone cheese, 1000 Island dressing, and cole slaw) which they loved! My wife ordered the salmon w/ lettuce, tomato, onion sandwich; I ordered the quesadilla with chicken, onions, cheese, and mushrooms. Both were excellent! Not sure Magoo’s has live music? They do have Whiskey Wednesday tastings, which includes dinner . . . 75 per person. If you like to travel, Magoo’s offers trips to Europe (eg. Portugal , Ireland, Scotland). It’s gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day ! You might try the Guinness Stew, very good over at the old “Jennifer’s”! I read many of the reviews, sad to see so many negative reviews on rudeness. Doesn’t sound like the Jennifer we knew years ago! As Jennifer walked around to greet her clients, my wife and I found her to be very polite & easy to converse

I couldn't put stars for food since I didn't eat here, but the atmosphere is friendly and the service is awesome! Very kind and on top of their game! The owner Jennifer is very hospitable. Devin is an amazing server and was very attentive and welcoming. All the other guests seemed very happy. Cool vibes! Must visit if you are downtown Frederick!
